Deep Thoughts

I got a solar powered flower from a friend of mine for my birthday today. I took it to work with me. There is a deep spiritual question that comes to mind after watching this flower. You see, it is created to run on power from the sun. So, if you set it in a window, it then moves. It's sole purpose of being created is to move when it receives power. I sat my flower in my window at work but it did not move. It is a cloudy day, with threats of thunderstorms here. I decided to take my flower outside, and see if it would move on the other side of the window. Here is what I observed. I did. Even though it is cloudy and not much sun at all, it still had some movement when on the other side of the window. My window is tinted. So here is the DEEP Thought. How many of us are "solar powered" flowers? How many of us sit in church where we see the SON, can even feel warmth from it, but we are sitting behind a tinted window (thoughts and feelings) that keep us from moving? The tints of our life keep us from receiving the POWER of the SON? If we just would allow ourselves stand on the other side of the tinted glass, how much power would we receive? Even on a cloudy day, how much movement could we make? Just a thought.

Wow! That really is deep! Seriously, I look around at people in & outside of church and wonder, what is our belief system? Some people will automatically talk "God language", but how deep does that go? I'm not talking about turning away from bad jokes & questionable movies...but when I hear people constantly critical or negative or worrying or complaining...does that reflect a godly heart? We are His Children! We are redeemed! He loves us but also reprimands us just as we do our children...but we don't like to hear whining about nothing good to eat for dinner. :) I am learning that God's word is powerful & He bestows that power to us as His royal family! I want to serve Him well!

Nice idea. I think we always have the cloud that keeps us from seeing clearly -- but exactly right, what if we were tuned in to God's rays that do get through to this world?! I often feel like I haven't let God impact me as deeply as He wants -- life's "window tint" seems to keep me distracted.
