This week, I have been reminded of something very important. And contrary to Dash's thoughts right now -it's not that his rental car can go from 0 to 90 in about 3 seconds!
On Tuesday this week I had lunch with the "Prime Timers" one of the gentlemen in this group turned 90 years old on Tuesday! I was humbled by the prayer force in this group. They (and the gentlemen mentioned specifically) prayed earnestly for revival in our church. I know another man in the group that has a strong vision and desire to see the church grown and has had the vision for 20 years now, still holding strong to his faith that he will see the vision complete in his life time. Another woman prayed in the group for the next generation. Reminding them that if they all don't pray for us, then who will.
It is my hope that our generation will pray for the rest. That when we're not as physically able to be out in ministry that we don't stop praying for the ones who can and are. I was blessed by this group and reminded of their great value still to us and this world!
Which brings me to the 0. Okay, I'm exagerating a smidge. When I got into work today I had 4 notes on my desk! One was from the Prims group that thanked me for my hard work and dedication to the church. I know that they also had notes for the pastor and the custodian, and that this helped them on a badge! But even with knowing that it's still nice to see that through clubs like Girls Clubs that our children are being taught to appreciate others. I know that I was blessed by the note! It's not been a tough week or anything, but sometimes it's good to know that you're appreciated!
The other 3 notes were from 18-20 year olds. They had stolen my covetted post it notes :) to leave me funny notes. One said "Have a good day" one said "use this note" with a smile and the other had smiley faces drawn on it! I'm sure they were waiting for the youth pastor, and had nothing better to do! It's still fun to get a random note like that from time to time. Silliness is a good thing. I try to be just silly enough with the guys that they see you can be "old and responsible" and still have fun! Maybe it's working! LOL! It's nice to know that from 0-90 people care.
I'm glad I was reminded of that this week.
As a side note on prayer: Since I don't have an actual "prayer group" officially right now, if anyone who is reading this would join in praying with me, I'd appreciate it. I have a good friend who is 11 years old and has been admitted to a hospital because of his behaviors and desire to hurt himself. His mom is a single Christian mother who could really use extra prayer support right now to be encouragement to him. He prayed that he wouldn't have to stay at the hospital, but obviously there's some deep rooted things that teachers, parents, and medication isn't albe to help with right now. Maybe God has provided this as an avenue of help to show him how to respect himself, and see that his life matters. I am counting on that. If you could pray for him, his mom and the whole family I'd apprectiate it. We know prayer is the only real thing to help him and that if the hospital stay helps, it's because it's God directed, so please pray with us for him and his doctors during his stay.
Thanks for listening/reading! It's great to know I can count on you all.
Love, T

We LOVE you so much! Thanks for truly showing me what "family" really is about!
T is so cool ... I can think of very few church secretaries in the world that inspire such fun and respect from twenty-something guys.
I'll try to remember that eleven-year-old (and his mom) in prayer. That is sad that he (and she) has to deal with issues like that at such a young age.
