I was asked a question and I stopped and as I stopped I was told to "not analyze but just give my thoughts."
NOT Analyze?
For me, there is no thought if there is no analysis. I do not know how to not think about something. I tried for a few minutes and finally told the person that was an impossible thing to ask of me.
For me, it's the equivalent to air. I see a facial expression, here a tone, or just read what someone has written and it makes me think of all the ways they could have meant it. If someone is overly positive about something, I can usually think of several good not so positive things to counter. The reverse is true, if someone is overly negative, I can usually think of several positive things to counter that. I try to force others to think more.
This may shock some of my readers. I really don't know how others view me, regarding thoughts. I'm not as well read and in the "know" on some things as most, so I'm not saying that I am super well rounded. I am just stating that don't ask me what I think, because I can usually give you a novel on the subject! :)
Prime example:
Do you like the color red? Seems simple enough, most would say --yes or no--
I would reply with: "It really depends. I like red when it's more Burgundy then red. Sometimes it can brighten up an outfit to throw some red in it. I like red on fire engines, they are easier to see. I don't like red icing, it tastes weird. I do like red when mixed with yellow to make orange! I like red flashlights but I do not like red blankets. I like red on Nicky, but not as much on Chandler. I think red can be "too much" in a lot of cases, but a splash here or there, can be fun!
So, sometimes I like red. Sometimes I do not like red. I do not care for red cars. That really might be because my first car was a piece of junk and it was red. But then again, it could also be because I don't like anything that draws attention to me, so I like under stated things and red is often not an understated color. When it's with blue it's not bad. I'm not a fan of red and green--except at Christmas and then it's okay.
So I guess I like red, in a way! :)
YES--My favorite Dr. Seuss book is "Green Eggs and Ham"
The scary thing--I could go on and on forever on the color red and thoughts that surround it! :) I'll spare you! As so often I try to do when you ask me what I think on your blogs! (I honestly think to myself--"do you REALLY want to know?!" and then talk myself into a short answer or out of an answer at all! Sometimes I think, I just don't have time to think right then.)

If I ask, I actually do want to know. :)
I have to analyze before I know how I think as well. If I respond without analyzing, my response is usually quite wrong.
Unfortunately, I do oftentimes speak without thinking very much, which is my worst downfall. I am not alone, but I wish I was more like you. You are a deep thinker. If someone asked me if I like red, I would most definitely say "yes".
Sometimes I don't think things out very well. Other times I do. Depends on if I'm feeling lazy or not.
If I ask you something, you usually pause...I guess you are analyzing or coming up with the right words. : )
If I was asked if I like the color red, I would say no. But that would be wrong in some instances like you explained. (I am carrying a red purse right now!)
I usually have all my analyzing figured out before the questions come, so I can give a confident response.
I like red!
And I am for you giving your true thoughts.
I am prone to think outloud which means people having to witness my analysis - not always the best way to handle it. Maybe I should think more first. Though I can usually talk myself through two or three opinions - so I know exactly what you mean. Dark red yes, bright red, no, well only at Christmas...
