In leaving the house today I had little expectation. I wondered if dash would have gotten me something, but since the house was empty I assumed that was probably not the case. I did think chocolate sounded good. I got in the van to see a red bag! It had a sweet card from the kids with some chocolate in it! That was neat. I entered the office thinking about how it was neat that they got me that and saw a card and box on the desk! Dash bought me a neat candle holder that quotes.."Love is...." and had a really neat card complete with poem/note in it from him.
Dash has come a long way from "I don't believe in Vtine" to "If I wanted to write you something I wouldn't have bought you a card that had writing in it." to gifts on vtine with card and personal note! It made the day pretty special for me.
I wanted to make the day somewhat special for dash and the kids, so when we got home we went to "Texas Road House" for dinner! It's the first time that the kids have been since they were babies and the first time that we've been out to eat as a family in months. They seemed to like it and we had a good time. We called ahead and had a long wait--so I got to get some new tops for work too! This year, I'd have to say I have been pretty pampered for a Valentines day!
Thanks hun! :)

Aw...that was really sweet! I am so glad they were able to surprise you...as even I know is VERY difficult to do! :)
I still wore black as has become my annual tradition since college days...lol! Someone asked why. Well, I have always been alone on V-day, even when I was married...so why hold onto a fantasy expectation to always be disappointed!
However, I came up with a new quote that has a more positive sound: "BE TRUE!! To yourself and to Truth! Only you make your own happiness...not waiting/relying on another person!"
Love ya!

That sounds sweet. I'd like to hear the poem, if Dash was willing to share it.
Neat! Glad you and the family had a great day. It's nice to be pampered sometimes.
It's nice when we can get things we don't expect. I hate valentines day, how commercial it is and everything, but I admit, it's nice to be appreciated.
Sounds like a good Valentine's Day.
