I know that they say time flies. But really, it's already March 6th of this year. I've gone through 1/6 th of the year and it seems like it just began. I am pretty sure that this is the first time I've gone a whole year without getting back to Indiana too. Grant it, I went to Chicago, Atlanta, and St. Louis for my family--so I did travel to see them, but I usually make it back to the farm a couple times at least in a year. I usually get to the point where Dash tells me that I need to go and get away. Last year we didn't camp very much either. It was a rainy spring and fall and a busy/hot summer. I don't know what this year will be like? I hope we get to go camping a few times. I should be easier to get away with our weekend obligations less now.
In a couple weeks the kids are going to spend some time in Indiana with my folks. They are all looking forward to it. Last Spring Break dash and I took off and spent it with them. This time he's got time off and with my days being shorter we'll have more time around the house just the two of us. The nice thing is he will get a break for the first time in years. He goes on Ranger outings for himself, so he gets time away, but he doesn't get much time that is just his own. The isn't a huge house project to do (although I'll probably think of something! :)) This kind of moment will not happen often in our lives so I hope that he can appreciate it while he has it!
This weekend it ended up that I had some significant down time at the house. The kids and dash had plans and stuff that kept them busy. I didn't feel great, but it was still nice to just have some down time and regroup. This weekend time stood still for me for a while and I was able to just appreciate the quiet. I even got stuff done but I enjoyed doing it instead of feeling like a work horse. It's good to be refreshed! :)

I'm looking forward to my kids being old enough to spend a week or two with grandparents
I hope you two can enjoy that time while you have it. It is much more valuable when you are used to going non-stop.
Golden and I have felt like we haven't been able to slow down in a while. I'm looking forward to summer.
Going non-stop does wear you out. Glad you had a few moments to yourself. I usually get a few but we are really busy right now. And this week I'm working on my usual day to catch up around the house and write.
Glad you had the down time that you needed. : )
