Is it really necessary

Am I the only person who knows when it's snowing? Do we really need constant break ins from the local news when there's bad weather? I think it's interesting how we need a constant update. "It's raining...it's snowing...the old man is snoring." Aren't these obvious? Why must the weathermen and women stand in front of their blue screen or worse...out in the weather and say "it's cold, stay inside?"

I pay attention to the forecasts. Mainly because my kids walk to school and home if the weather permits. If it does not then I or dash are their mode of transportation. I'm all for having an idea on Monday that snow is coming on Wednesday. I just don't understand why we need the updates.

7:00: It's snowing
7:15: Still snowing
7:30: Snow is starting to stick to the ground.

Come on. Talk about gag me! :) Do we NOT have windows?

I get needing to know that tornadoes are in the area. I understand why you need to inform us of that. But I don't get the snow updates. Is it really necessary?

That's my question.

I think the same thing. What's probably going on, though, is that the life of a weather forecaster is relatively dull except when he/she can make it sound like the weather is deadly.

In related news, when I drove home from class tonight it was actually worse than I expected it to be. The plows and salt trucks weren't keeping up. I'm sure it will be better tomorrow morning, though.

Maybe its for some of us that might push that snooze a couple of times, therefore I would need the weather update at the odd time and not just at the top of the hour...LOL!

But thankfully, they keep the school closings scrolling at the bottom of the screen! Maybe they should do that with the weather/traffic report since it really does make a difference in getting to work.

I'm just so glad I am still "unemployed" today...and already dreading starting my new job tomorrow in this weather..LOL!

It is funny that when it snows, that is all the news wants to talk about! Is there nothing else newsworthy?

I can only get the weather once or twice a day and then it is very general - it covers the whole country in about 3 minutes. Of course the weather is rarely drastic. They did talk about the three feet of snow in the mountains on the regular news for three days though.
