Two blogs in one night!

I know it's not unheard of, but some of you may have figured out that dash is gone tonight. With it being a school night and not a Friday night, I had a lot more extra time on my hands this week. (He wasn't out of town...but he was gone on Tues and Wed too....so this is night 3 of 5 nights....)

All that to say that I watched a movie tonight. "Must love dogs." I don't usually like Diane Lane, so even with the John Cusack factor I had avoided this movie. Tonight I watched it and I must say that I enjoyed it. I know sappy romantic movies are just that, but still they continue to be fun to watch. It made me think when it was over, I have never seen Cusack in a bad movie. I don't know for sure that I've seen ALL of his movies, but even his earlier works have a dark comedy side that draws me in. I won't say that I am a fan (because forrest will pick on me!:) But I do like Cusack. I find his characters interesting and they seem to be characters that brood bringing a layered/deeper quality then what you see usually in these types of movies. I think that's why I like Tom Hanks in romantic comedies too. Maybe they are just playing the part that is written by a woman for a woman, but real or not, it makes for enjoyable movie time, which is nice. Dash and I have seen enough romantic comedies and sap on TV that some of the lines I hear some husbands say, I've heard at home! We joked about a recent show we watched. I'm not sure if dash writes secretly for the show or just reads the scripts ahead of time so he can use it first! :) I guess a good line is nice to hear, even if it's used by others too! I guess that's why so many of them work, it's what we want to hear. But that takes me down another road and I don't want to go there....so I'll say goodnight gracie....

I liked "Must Love Dogs" John Cusack is one of my favorite actors.

I brought a picture of Dust into the office and my co-worker said that he looked like John Cusack.

I prefer male actors with black hair that remind me of Dust! : )

"But I do like Cusack"

-so you are a fan.

"I prefer male actors with black hair that remind me of Dust!"

- whatever it takes to avoid sin.

I liked High Fidelity. Cusack did a decent job with his character, but the thing I liked most was that it was about someone who had to realize that his fantasy world and his real life world didn't mesh.

I would say I'm a Cusack fan, at least that would be one of the closest things to fan that I get. I like all the movies I've seen. I love the dark comedies and the oh crud, my like stinks roles that are funny to me. I asked for Must love dogs, ahem, Debia Amar Perros...for my birthday, glad you didn't give it away since I don't have it yet. Since we've started collecting movies, I'm considering collecting Cusack ones.
