The good the bad and the ugly of having growing kids. I had been counting on a pair of shoes that cman has from the end of school last year to get him into the fall this year. They are size 2 and I assumed Cman would be able to wear them this fall. He informed me (the day before school started) that they do not fit him. He has worn his sandals all summer and they are smaller then the tennis shoes, but once you put padding and sides and cover the toes, he needs bigger shoes for his feet! I noticed that his feet are widening out too. When did that happen? I don't feel like he's gone through some big growth spurt? Maybe it's all going to his feet right now? Anyway, we'll be getting him new shoes soon.
On the other side N I knew needed shoes, so we went to get her shoes last week. She has long narrow feet. Because of the length she is now in size 8 ladies shoes for tennis shoes! Her sandals that she bought for this summer were size 7, her toes slip over the edge some, but she loves them so she still wears them. Size 8?! She's only in the 6th grade! But then I remember that I was 5'8 in the 6th grade and wearing size 8 or 9 shoes. So at least she's not my height yet! :) YIKES!
I currently wear between size 9 and 10 depending on the type of shoes. Typically size 10 in tennis shoes. At this rate in a year or two N and I will have to make sure our shoes don't get too close or we'll have trouble telling them apart! We tend to be drawn to the same type of Tennis shoes. This should not however be a problem when it comes to dress shoes. You will never see me wearing high heels! :)

My feet stopped growing in the 8th grade. I am the same shoe size as I was then. So, Maybe N's feet will stop growing when she's a size 10.
I remember I was in size 4 for the longest time...and that was the transistion from 6th to 8th grades. This is when you want a more grown up feminine shoe...but they really didn't make anything that size and women's sizes didn't start till 5...so most of my tennis shoes had to be the boys size 1...which were ugly!
I have been very fortunate to still keep my same size feet despite having two pregnancies, in which most women's feet spread.
I am anxiously awaiting the news of my friend's sister in Colorado, who just had a baby, to see if I will inherit the complete collection of size 5 1/2! (We all three wore the same size from college till L had her children...then she gave them to M!)
You'll never see me wearing high heels either. :)
I'm a size 10 tennis shoe, but 9ish in shoes with less padding.
If you are keeping score, I am a size 10.
