Wiser or just older?

I got a card in the mail. A coupon for $5 off at a restaurant for my birthday. It's still a little over 2 weeks away. It made me think. I was talking to my dad last night about a job I use to have. I didn't realize at the time what was happening but the boss was overly critical of my work. Now I realize that I came in and got bored easily so I took on a lot of her stuff. When things I did weren't to the level she would do them instead of "teaching" me through that moment, I got yelled at. It was kind of stressful then. I think I would handle that differently now, mainly by not doing my bosses job no matter how bored I was! :)

Being a doer over the years has gotten me into a lot of trouble. I still have my shining moments. What I mean is simply I don't know how not to do once I've decided to do something, so I don't slow down to think always about what I am doing. At least that's the way I handled things in the past. I am learning to slow down, and to not do things without thinking (sometimes.) This past weekend I knocked a whole in our tent screen, I was trying to kill a bee with a piece of paper. That didn't work so I moved onto a box (enter the whole -- the corner of the box went through the mesh.) I finally killed it with a shoe, I hit it like it was a ball--batting I can do! It landed against the side of the tent, slid down the wall onto the floor and then I proceeded to ensure death with another blow!

Sometimes I think I've learned more in life now from experience. That I am wiser with age. Then other times I think I'm just older. I will know in the future not to try to kill insects in the tent when they are on the window. I think I will also know why dash insists on the kids keeping the tent closed up and I'll be a little more careful with that too.

Wiser? Probably not, but definitely getting older by the minute! :)
