To total or not to Total

As dash pointed out on his blog, he and cman were hit the other day. They are fine. So now we wait. We wait to find out if the van is totaled or not. If it's not how long it will take to fix it. Here are some of the thoughts I've had over the past couple days....

Cool, we can shop for a new/used vehicle.
We could save some money on gas by getting another car.
Wonder how much a small SUV, jeep maybe would cost? We wouldn't really save money on gas with that though.

Boy, we really liked our van. It is a pretty color.
It sure is roomy on trips. It's so nice to have so much space to carry stuff. It did have all the bells and whistles...tented windows, windows with electric and solar defrost. I liked my little net in the middle for my purse and extra stuff. I don't want to car shop for real do I?

Huh, I wonder if the van will be totaled? I am not sure anymore if I want it to be or not? Totaled or not totaled, that's the question we are waiting on for now. I guess since it's out of our hands it really doesn't matter what they decide! :) I suppose we are pretty okay with it either way.

From my experience in totalling cars...(trust me, I have plenty of experience)...but I am not a claims adjuster. It all comes down to the value of the vehicle right now....but you already know that!

But, HEY...I am rocking on almost 3 years in the same vehicle!! =)

I remember really not wanting my car totaled (the subaru). It got within $800 of totalling. I was glad to keep it and it served faithfully for another 8 years or more.

It's good that you are ok with either decision. It can be fun getting a new vehicle, but then you remember what you liked/missed about the old one.
