N had her first real bike wreck last night. She made it through with just scrapes and bruises. But she's sore today. They take their cell phone with thme for such an occasion as they venture around the block. She called me and said, "mom I um had a wreck." (Sounds fine...) I said "Are you okay?" She said "yes, just some scrapes." I called her back. You want me to come get you? She said "Yes, my bike is too messed up to ride it." (ding ding ding...more serious then she first said.)
Okay, I'm on my way. Dad was called (he had the van) he met me there to pick up the bikes. Her helment is banged up and she has skin missing and as I said some bruises. She thinks she flipped end to end, based on the bike and the scapes, that might have happened, she definately didn't just fall off her bike. But she's okay and the bikes are put a way for the weekend. She lives to ride again! But as she has stated (not so fast down a hill) again! :)

goodness! I am glad she's alright. I am trying to think of a big hill near you guys.
Bike wrecks are inevitable, I wonder how we survived without helmets.
Some of us just formed nervous ticks from the constant concussions. :)
I am glad to hear N is ok. She's tough.
sorry to hear about her wreck. glad it wasn't more serious.
Bike Wrecks... YIKES! Nothing like that realization that you've lost control just before the impact. Although it might be worse to have it happen all of a sudden. I remember a bad one I had when I was a 3.5 foot tall kid on my yellow 27 inch 10-speed playing "monorail" transporter next to the curb...
