I am taking a moment to soak up all the conversations I have had or am in the process of having with my kids this afternoon.
Cman is getting baptized on Sunday. We've talked about why, and if he's sure he's ready, and if he understands what he's doing. He's asked good and appropriate questions, like: Will I be all the way under the water, or not my head? and when I said yes, and showed him how it will be done he said "like you die to your old ways and are born into your new ways." (He was recalling a previous conversation we had about baptisms and what they are and why we do them.) He shared why he didn't think he would say anything, which is mostly because he's embarrassed in front of people. He said he laughs when he's nervous and he didn't want to do that up there.
N showed me her article she had from school on cell phones for kids her age, still campaigning for her own phone. She knows we're on the verge of saying yes, since they walk to school and they are staying at home some once in a while too. She pointed out that her math homework is on right, obtuse, and acute angles. Which I was teaching her about while she worked her math program the other day. She said it's still hard for her to remember, but she's starting to get it.
Cman said he's reading Indian Two Feet to his teacher. He left it at school so he could finish it with her. :) I bet she regrets telling us he doesn't read enough! :) :) But I am glad that he feels confident enough to read to her from this book!
When I asked Cman what he thought a good mom was yesterday, he said "a kind mom, one who feeds us and who keeps the house clean! Then he said, but also one who will take a break from cleaning sometimes too!" (Guess who didn't do housework this weekend!)
Well, I better go get dinner ready, Cman and his dad are kindred spirits when it comes to "one who gives us food"!

Yes. Food is definitely important. :)
That's wonderful that C-man is getting babtized. And more important is that he understands what it means.
Did they tell N the trick to remembering the angles: Acute are cute because they are small-less than 90 degrees. Obtuse sounds like obese or large: over 90 degrees.
