The kids I watch are building a fort behind me right now. Charlie is 3 1/2 and Paige is 6 1/2. (She's in Kindergarten so she's with me 1/2 the day.) As Paige works diligently putting toys together and blankets and pillows, Charlie is running around the room doing all kinds of crazy things! They keep saying "T no peeking" and then Charlie will say "T watch this!" So I have to attempt to watch him while not seeing the masterpiece that she is creating!
Now, she wants him to do something and I told him if he wanted to play in the fort he had to help...His response "That's not a fort!" But he's doing what he was asked to do, so apparently "fort" or not he wants to play in it too!
The completed project looks more like a tunnel then a fort! But it also looks like something I would have had fun playing in when I was a kid!
Kudos to Paige and Charlie!

Fort-making is awesome. My brother sal was the ultimate fort-maker when we were little. I miss those days...
I used to love to make forts. When we were asked not to make forts at my grandparents' house we made "tunnels" instead.
