It's 6 hours shy of the new year. In case you are wondering I'm a die hard "It's got to be midnight WHERE you ARE!" New Year's person. Last year at this time my WHOLE family was here. My dad, mom, Tammy, Mike, Josh, Jake, Tina, Marlon, Orry, Quinton, Rusty, Cory, Kaleb, Kody, Kendra, ME, Dash, N, Cman and Jason. We had noise makers and ran out side to "scream in" the new year!
It was a lot of fun. My dad, me and my sis took a long walk close to midnight with almost all the kids! We had about 6 or 7 of them with us, all the little ones. We walked around the block. The kids played outside in the back yard way into the night. We had chili and this really good corn dip and home made salsa.
This year, it's just a little different. Dash and the kids went to Springfield to be with his dad and brother. I opted to stay home because of my leg and I wasn't feeling great. So here I am, on the couch wishing real hard that TV programming wasn't the worst ever, getting ready to put in a DVD and watch some movies I've watched too many times already (yes You've got mail is on the top of the stack!)
I like New years. I like to reflect on years gone past and past "new years eves." I like to look to the new year. I don't make resolutions, but I do realize that each year does bring something new and I find that exciting. Especially when I'm in a rut!
This past year was a good one for me. I got new furniture for the Living Room and a new Kitchen/Dining table. I rearranged my house in the famous "Franklin shake up": not once, but twice! My kids got to spend almost a full 2 weeks with my folks in Indiana this summer! Dash and I got to have a 'get away' while the kids were gone. N and C became old enough to stay at home sometimes while I go to the store or run errands! N started cooking some. We had a first "full family" vacation with my folks and siblings/families! We went camping more then once! We bought a BIG family tent that is perfect for camping in all kinds of weather. I spent some time in St. Louis able to help a friend in need. Made Chili for 200 people for the first time in my life. Watched my parents buy laptops and start to learn how to use a computer! Started walking with some friends. Made new friends and became closer to existing friends. Celebrated Christmas with Friends and Family! Grew a lot spiritually, understand more about forgiving others and what it means to be more mature spiritually when things aren't perfect. Oh yeah, and started a blog!
So a toast to bring in the new year! To continued living, loving, and learning!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year, my dear friend!
(I really hate you are there and we are here)
I think I'll remember 2005 as the year that myself and about 30 other people I know got into this blog thing.
Hope you enjoyed your movies!
