Today my mom called me. She was on her way home from work, early in the middle of a bad snow storm. There were already 3 inches (aprox.) on the ground and she was driving her new TownCar and NOT the dually Truck that my dad told her to drive to work. (Because it can handle the snow and had the appropriate weight etc.)
Now, I am losing most of you here, so let me explain why any of this matters. My parents live on a farm. She drives about 30 miles one way to work everyday on highways that are not like Kansas roads. Where I am from is not mountain land either, but we have winding roads, with curves and hills and curves at the bottom of hills and hills that are steep. It's gorgeous land to look at and live around, but dangerous to drive on in bad weather. Specifically this one hill between her work and home.
So, she called me and asked me to pray for her safety in driving home and I did. When I talked to her later, she said that she didn't slide ONE time (VERY UNUSUAL) and she said that 1/3 of her trip the highway was covered without any tracks on it. That was the part of the highway that is the worst part, with the hills and curves and such. She said that it was a smooth ride. I know that God was with her and I'm so glad that in times like that we can turn to him to protect us (even when we don't listen to our husbands who tell us to drive a safer vehicle! :) )

I love to hear God stories like that! I get chills just knowing that He is watching over us.
