I am not planning on do a lot of these, but since we mentioned I may need surgery, I figured I'd let you all know what the doc said yesterday.
I don't have to have surgery! YAY! What a relief. I still have a broken leg in 2 spots, right at the ankle. So, I am in a cast with orders to not put ANY weight on it. I was told by the doctor "I guess you can rest your foot on the floor sometimes." Basically, it's leg up and no weight at all for a while.
In a couple weeks, after the swelling goes down, they want to switch me from a cast to a "boot." I am not sure what that will be exactly. I have an idea--but I am not positive. In the boot I should be able to move my foot some, but still NO WEIGHT.
In 4 weeks or more they will still have me on crutches and in a boot, depending on my ability to move my foot--I may be able to do some weight at that point and they may release me for limited driving (but that's still debatable because of it being my right leg.) Crutches for sure for 6 weeks.
I am hoping not any longer then that so I am trying to follow doctor's orders. I am trying not to complain, and I have found that as long as I keep my pain killers in me that's easier to accomplish! At least I am not looking at surgery. There is a bright side. :)

Yes, use your meds!!!!
As the nurse told me after surgery, "Hon, I don't think the Doc would have prescribed them for you if he didn't think you were going to need them."
