Keep it Simple, Keep it Real. I loved growing up on a "dirt road" It's awesome to live on a farm where you can take long walks and soak up all of God's creation. Nothing in the world is better then being on the farm and having nothing to do but "sit on the porch with God."

Desk calender
What good does a desk calender do you when you have to move piles of things off of it in order to write something down on it?! Don't get me wrong, I actually really like my calender because I don't have to have my computer on to look and see the things that need to be done for that week But it's only helpful when I can actually see it. I clean up my desk and it seems within hours it's full of papers again. I have things for Rangers on it, I have LOTS of papers on it for and from the kids and thier school. I have stacks of things for me to go through and even with our handy stacker trays, I don't have enough places to put stuff to keep my handy desk calender clean it seems. It should not be this difficult to keep one area of my home in an orderly manner. Especially when it's papers. Papers should be easy to keep in order. But, at last, I went to write something on my calender today and picked up two mounds of books/paper to do it. Now as I put them back on it, I am wondering, will I ever clean that off in time to actually see that and be reminded by it?

That is why I don't use desk calendars! I have a wall calendar up but it is hard to write things on. I also have some pocket calendars.
My dad used to have a desk calendar on his desk. I always thought it would be frustrating to have to clear off my desk once a month to pull off last month's sheet.
I only like the desk calendars that have comics on them or witty nonsense. These are like little entertainment stands for the beginning of the day. If it was someon elses desk calendar with comics, I would read ahead like it was a book. If it was mine, I could usually keep myself from reading ahead, because I would have to wait a whole year for a new one. HA! I usually use post-its for the reminders. But over here there are no post-its, and my computer is severed from the mothership.
I have the pile problem on my desk. I want there to be functional work space, but it's like a vacuum that gets filled up. So I've never tried desk calendars at home. I had one at work but I just used it to make notes when I was on the phone, not for actual appointments.
Since I don't have a DESK yet, guess that calendar method won't work for me...lol! No wonder I can't keep track of things...
