It's that time again!

You see it everywhere. You here it for weeks prior. Now it really is that time! Back to school.

For N this means having kids adapt to her name change. It also means having a calculator as a school supply! She got a new back pack and a few clothes. She actually picked out a new outfit that is cute and stylish. She's at that inbetween stage of feeling/acting younger and being older. 10. It's smack in the middle of fun exciting toy land as a kid and curl up with a book, be left a lone time as a teen. She shows all the signs of feeling it too. Not old enough to hang with the adults, but gets tired of play time with the kids too. It's 5th grade, and it's going to be a lot of work for her, but I am sure she's up for the challenge!

C-man. 1st grade. What can I say. He's been told stories in the last week or so that's made him apprehensive. But tonight in taking his stuff to school, he seemed to adapt quickly. We found his desk and started separating supplies out. Next thing I know he's sitting at his desk organizing his school box the way he wants it to be! I am sure he'll notice that he's one of the few that hasn't lost a tooth over the summer (something he was looking forward too.) But he's got some new clothes, even some he paid for from Birthday money...Army pants...I would NEVER have picked those out! But he likes them. Tomorrow is also his 6th birthday. He's VERY excited about that. Although most of the celebrating was done today...He's taking batman fruit snacks to school, it's the first time he's taken snacks to school. He's pretty happy about that too.

All in all I'd say that tomorrow will be a busy and fun day for all of us, as we start our new routine out. It won't be until Thursday that they actually have all day school. I'm even glad for that. I think we could all use the extra time to adapt!

DITTO!

I am so thankful for the people who helped out with getting the boys clothes and shoes...both desperately needed with GROWING boys! Even our daycare Owner shopped for their school supplies since she knew I couldn't get out to do it. Another huge $ blessing.

I am excited about this year for the boys...they have great teachers. J will have N's 1st grade teacher from last year...so I already have open communication established with her. N will have one of our EC grads as his 2nd grade teacher. I am looking forward to working with her too, especially knowing she is a Christian. We are sad to lose our music teacher this year, who was also an EC grad, but all in all, I love our little school.

Can't believe school starts so early when it is still so hot. Fifth was my favorite year - tell N to enjoy it!

I always got excited for the first day back to school. I always loved picking out my school supplies. I still want to buy cute folders.

Happy Birthday C!

I received my first B on my report card in 5th grade. Don't tell N that it was all down hill for me after 5th grade.

LOL

In first grade, I switched schools middle of the year. The kids in my new school HATED me and (were loud about it.) The teacher gave me the seat of a girl that everyone LOVED while she was out sick. I remember thinking even at that young of an age, "It's not my fault...duh." But that did not matter, I went to that school for the next 11 years and it only got marginally better from there. The same kids that reacted to me taking Shannon's desk (who was prom and homecoming queen)were never friends with me. I guess I was branded for life!

In fifth grade I had a strange teacher who didn't like me because I talked too much! I did have fun that year, I sat next to George almost the whole year and we played connect the dots and tic tac toe most of the year! (Until we were caught....BUSTED!)

George and I were close friends until he moved when we were in high school to none other then KC! BTW, I was friends and running partners in track with his older brother Harry! The Spencer brothers were my first friends that were boys. They were cool!

I found out it was the first day of school today when I ran into a traffic jam trying to pass the local elementary school. I think I am going to need to account for the extra travel time during the school year.

I've been driving Lamar this summer. I think I'll be taking Antioch or Metcalf now! Too many schools on Lamar!

Is this my Tonya?
It's George. I'm still here in KC. I never got over you. I love you and have always loved you. If only our paths hadn't changed.
