Today, my kids are attempting to ride 15 miles to my parents house on their bikes. The last time they attempted it (last year) they got lost :). This time, I think they will make it. They are better prepared, they have a map and a list of directions.
Nicky just got back from church camp. The spiritual focus was building in time for spiritual disciplines, prayer and reading your Bible. They even replaced the afternoon service with time for the kids to read their Bible and then come back in a group to discus what they read.
While she was at church camp, Chandler was at my parents house. He held up drywall for my dad, helped herd cattle, weedeated the entire farm (this is no small feat) and mowed. Everytime he comes back from being with them for an extended time he comes back a little more confident and a little more grown up.
Next week we'll be in KC and then we're taking a family vacation-camping.
