To have a better relationship with your spouse, your parents, your siblings, your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers, well, you get the idea - to be a better person with better relationships you must first:
Have a good relationship with God! I know,
SHOCK right?
Ok, so now that you're over the initial shock think about this:
Prov. 4:23- 27 says
Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.
24 Keep your mouth free of perversity;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze directly before you.
26 Give careful thought to the[c] paths for your feet
and be steadfast in all your ways.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.
So, introspective question of the day is: Am I guarding my heart? What is flowing from me?

That sort of gives a new perspective on Jesus' comments that it is not what goes into the body, but rather what comes out of the heart, that makes a man unclean.
