Christmas with the "team"

We went to dash's Christmas party last night. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. The "parent" company threw the party, so only a couple/three tables were from his part of the company, but Terre Haute had one table itself.

The guy who throws the party and is the "grand pooh bah" stopped to talk to us, and spent a lot of time talking with me and referencing the work dash does and the asset he is to the company. He asked about our kids and thanked us for coming so far, it was an hour and 1/2 drive for us. He even admitted to needing to go "work" the other tables when he left! Which I found refreshing, there was no pretense to this man, and yet he is the grand pooh bah! But then again, truly great pooh bahs, don't have to hide behind pretense.

Then there were all the other people I met from Charleston, IL and Terre Haute that work with Dash on a regular basis. It was nice to see him in his element. He is very well liked and respected, and I could tell the feeling was mutual. Dash works with some great people, I'm glad I got to meet them and I'm glad that someone else sees his greatness as much as I do and utilizes it accordingly! He's a part of a great corporate team of professionals and I'm very proud of him and his current role!

It's nice as a spouse getting to see people appreciate you husband and you for the support you give to make what he does possible. I don't think enough companies take time to do that for their employees and spouses. In my opinion this party was much better then any gift card dash got from Citibank-even with the not so great band that never did really play a slow song for us to dance too! :) (You still owe me one Dash!)

God is so good! It was just last year at this time that we were praying so diligently for jobs for both of you. God always keeps His promises and takes care of His children!

Somehow I missed this post the first time around.

It is great to hear that Dash is important and recognized as that. That's a great position to be in, and has to improve his overall morale (is that too businessy of a term?).
