For real?

My daughter Nicky and my best friend Nicky are WAY too much a like! I have known this for some time. I have joked about it with my Nicky. Who knows, maybe God did it because I REALLY need to have a personality like that in my life? Maybe he did it so I would think of my friend Nicky often and keep in touch with her--even though we don't see each other and haven't lived in the same city since high school? Maybe it's just in the name?

I really don't know, but tonight it was clear, they are very similar! I told my friend about Nicky's "reactive hypoglycemia" and she knew exactly what I was talking about. She said that for years she has gone to doctors for her symptoms. Diabetes runs in her family and she has been tested several times for hypoglycemia. She said every time the blood tests showed she was fine. But since she obviously felt bad, she has taught herself to eat more protein and more often and has found that when she does she feels better. She did not know that there was a diagnosis of "reactive hypoglycemia." But she was self treating with what she had found to work over the years. Who would have thunk it....Now they even have that in common!

If I didn't know it to be true, I wouldn't believe it. 20 years apart, but similar in heart--and aparently hypoglycemia!

I would have never realized that protien helps that much.

That's funny. I often notice traits of my mom and alternately my dad in Dar and think that's funny how I would marry someone who is a mix of my own family.

Thanks for sharing the reactive hypoglycemia thing. I wonder if that's what I had and still struggle with. I know I have been anemic on and off during my life. In my teens, I was always fatigued and had fainting spells and threw-up.
