Tonight was a very refreshing evening. I have not been this relaxed on a week night in a long time. This summer was a lot more hectic then I had hoped it would be. It was also very stressful. It has felt in the past 3 weeks like I've started to breathe again, but we still have let a lot of house fall behind and we've been very busy. Tonight we came home and cleaned the house. Afterwards, we went to a small, local restaurant. It was quiet and good food, it made for a pleasant dinner.
I could feel my self feeling like I was actually enjoying the evening when we left the clean house to go out. But coming home to the house clean and hanging out was so nice. We all had different things we were doing. I jumped on Facebook and then read a book in the living room while Chan played game cube and Nicky painted her toe nails! Dash was on the phone for a while and then he was on the computer for a while. When he got done, he went to bed. The kids went to bed when they were told, no fighting to stay up, and I just sat on the couch reading and appreciating the pleasantness of it all.
I have realized this summer was stressful and I was maxed out on what I could handle but I am realizing now that the tide is on it's way out and while we're never 100% stress free, I will take and appreciate my low tide moment.

I hope Dash is having a great time in NY. I think I'll join the facebook club too.
I am glad that you had time to relax. Down time is very important!
I love down time. Too bad there isn't more of it.
I am jealous. I rarely get downtime.
