Lake Lonetree?

On my way to work everyday I spend a significant amount of time on a county road. Lonetree is the name of this road. It saves me about 10 minutes of drive time to cut to Linton on it instead of driving around via the highway. Today, I was disappointed when I got on Lonetree to find that it was flooded. I had assumed that by the time I went home tonight the water would be down. I was wrong. Here is a picture of the road and the water crossing it. There is actually a slight hill that is about 3 feet tall completely covered by water here! So this is not 2 inches of water running across the road!

This is the field that the water is coming from. This usually has corn or beans in it through out the summer/fall. Glad this rain hit before crop season!

It actually would make a pretty lake. I wonder if the water will be down much tomorrow?

WOW! That is a lot of water! I felt like it rained so much and for so long here that WE were going to float away! :)

I have to agree, that is a lot of water. We had steady rain, but I don't think it was as bad as what you got.

I don't believe I have ever seen a flooded road in person. That's probably a good thing, since I don't usually allow enough travel time to find an alternate route.

I heard about the flooding and people dying there in the midwest. It's always bad around Memorial day, but this is early for flooding, isn't it?

I hope it stops raining there soon for all of you. It rains here everyday but not very heavy, and we rarely see flooding, landslides sometimes. Entire highways closed down from a landslide is common here during heavy rain.

I wonder how long it would take for the road to dry up? I hope the rain there is over.
