The real deal

As I mentioned in my last blog, I needed prayer. I was not in the "best" spot mentally. In addition to Dash looking for Full time work, I had anticipated that H&R Block was going to be a great thing for me. The tax stuff is great, I enjoy the problems and the idea of doing taxes.

The problem is I was sold a bill of goods. I was told that I would be paid for training I did in December and that from Jan-April I would have Full time employment. It's Jan 10 and I have not received one pay check. I have only worked a total of 5 hours. I was only on the schedule for 10 hours next week. When I asked "where's the money" I was told, I might get paid Jan 21st but I have not been told how much training pay will be (it's not as much as the regular pay rate.)

With all that in mind, when the secretary job for our church opened up, I considered it and decided to apply. I had an interview today and I get to start full time (at a higher pay rate then H&R Block) on Monday. God is good! I may try to stay on with H&R Block for the education to be able to do my own taxes and help others out with thiers but because the owner has not been a woman of her word, I have reservations in working for her. I definately want to stay on long enough to get the pay she owes me for up to now.

In other news....Thanks for praying for us. Dash had a good interview today. They aren't sure on the time frame that an offer would be made, so that is causing some concern on his part. It's taking a lot of patience to get through this process for Dash, I am hoping and praying for an offer to be made and for one to happen quickly.

Praise the Lord. That was a fast answer for you. We will keep praying for Dash and his job.

My sister worked for H&R Block a few years back in KC and she worked a ton of hours. She only did it for the training so she could do her own taxes (her husband owns his own business), but if they train you, they require you to work a full tax season. She worked non-stop from Jan-April deadline. But that's KC where there are alot more people who need taxes done.

Actually I paid for the training so they can not require me to work for the season, I would imagine they have changed that policy all over but maybe not?

Congrads on the new job. I think you would make a great church secretary. I hope Dash can find something soon. I know it's not easy waiting.
