And then there were 7

There are 19 people in my family. There is a little bit of pressure to come up with Christmas gifts. The other day my mom mentioned her photo albums and that out of the FIFTY there is only one of us kids growing up. Dash mentioned scanning the photos and from that I birthed the idea to do that onto discs for my siblings for Christmas. This would knock me from getting 19 gifts to just 7 for the nieces and nephews.

Once I got the pictures scanned I decided to make them into a movie for those who prefer using their DVD over their PC. I put music to it and created a menu and credits and timed the pictures to the songs. WA la. My mom pointed out that she still wanted to be able to view the pictures on her pc, so I quickly copied all photos onto a cd for those who prefer PC over DVD. That gives them 2 gifts from me and I didn't have to go to the store!

Here is a sample of a couple pages from her 80 page photo album! I'm the cute blonde! :) I was the 3rd child out of four, that should give you enough clues to figure out where I am!

Nicky pointed out I was the only one with sweet sixteen pictures, so I picked that as my other sample!

Now if only I could come up with an idea for the nieces and nephews. They may just get candy! :) Of course I still have a few weeks and the Christmas bug has bitten us so, who knows? :)

This looks like it turned out great! I never realized how much you look like your mom until I saw your Sweet Sixteen pics! :)

I guess NOT living near family for the holidays has a positive point for me...there is NO pressure to get gifts for everyone...LOL!

Hope your family has a wonderful time together reminiscing and making new memories this year!

Nice idea with the DVD. I don't think I could have figured out how to do it.

How do you do that? What do we need to buy?

I used my printer/scanner and then Windows Movie Maker so I didn't have to pay for anything. I had bought the dvd's when we lived in KC to have on hand and that worked out really well...a great gift for the cost of 0$ :)

I love the sweet sixteen pictures. It brings back memories of the late '80s.

Now, I would love see one of Dash with a mullet.
