In "Friends" we're learning about Personal Evangelism. I learned something very interesting tonight from N. At the end we role played sharing the "ABC's" of salvation. I was specifically being obstinate for N to see how she would overcome someone who wasn't interested in what she had to say. She not only listened to why the person wasn't interested, but she found friendly non threatening ways on "different days" to continue to try to encourage the person to hear her out. She included other friends and didn't give up.
At the end when she and I talked about it she stated that something that helped her was remembering last year. She then shared a particular person who was Gothic and genuinely scared her. One of her best friends got to know him and then she had an opening through that friend to share her faith with him. She didn't do the "ABC's" with him but she said there was a notable difference in him and he became friendlier to people after that. Her friend also said that he came to her church at least once after that.
She also stated that with a new school, being a new girl she was not as forth coming with her Christianity. She didn't want to be labeled the "goody two shoes." I think doing this lesson right now is helping her realize that she just needs to be herself and trust God for the openings to witness.
N has a resolve that I never had with my Christian walk. I didn't waver on what I believed but I also didn't share what I believed. I spent my time praying. I believe praying is good and VERY important part of our Christian walk, but I see now that I need to improve on my willingness to share with others. Witnessing beyond the obvious "this is my life" doesn't come easy for me.

It doesn't come easy for me. Most of the time I don't talk about being a Christain unless I know I'm around others.
I am very proud of N. She seems to have a certain "gift" for evangelism. This topic is what our S.S. and pastor is preaching on right now.
N better at that than most adults.
It has always helped me to improve my witness in seeing how someone else does it. I think God made us different so he could have many ways of reaching people he loves. I appreciate your observations and conviction. this has made me want to be more intentional in displaying Christ in my life.
I have been working on my evangelism too. Give N a thumbs up and tell her to keep it up.
