:( Good bye old friend

Some of my readers know this, some do not. When I met dash over 14 years ago he had gone a couple days without shaving. When he stated he needed to shave, I said "why?" He was thrilled to know that I liked beards! With one exception (when Nicky was a baby --11 years ago) dash has never shaved his beard completely off. He has kept it nice and trim and I have loved that about him!

He has been given feedback a couple of times during this "out of work" status that he will be considered a stronger, more professional candidate if he shaves. Some people pointed out that it's company policy in some corporations still for men to have to be clean shaven.

While I disagree with this theory whole heartily, Dash has an interview this Thursday with a company that may not mind his beard, but the job is a good enough one we certainly don't want it to stand in the way.

It seems for the second time since I've known him he will be without a beard. I know he's not excited about this change, but I also know that it's only facial hair. It can grow back and I'm sure it will grow back in due time. Maybe it has no impact at all, but since we've been told by the "professionals" that it could he figured he should take them seriously.

He just showed me his "goatee" I think that was so I would be better prepared and less shocked. I'll miss you old friend, I hope you return soon! :)

He just finished. Actually, I think it will be nice for a change! :) I told him that I will probably be looking at him a lot more now! :) At least until I get use to the new look! Check it out!

It's nice to have a change every once in a while. It can always grow back once he has the job (as long as the company permits).

I don't know if he likes or hates this, but it makes him look younger. I think it will probably help him in interviews, but I don't have a real reason for why yet.

Maybe I should take Dash's inspiration and shave my facial hair. I am probably old enough that my baby face will only make me look 20 rather than 15.

On another note, the word verification that I have to type in is "ysizzaw." There has to be a good definition someone can come up with for that word.

I always thought it was important to have a clean shave before an interview, but I think it would be ok with a trimmed beard. I guess it can't hurt. It does make Dash look younger.

He literally "shaved" some years off his age.

Maybe people think that a clean shaven man will be more detailed at his job than an unshaven man??
