Missionette mom-- part 2.

Tonight was our first "meeting"! Actually we did pretty well I think. We covered the basics again, to refresh her memory and set up our "rules for the club."

Our rules are as follows:
1. No interrupting. :)
--We both agreed this will be difficult for us!
2. Must have assigned Bible reading done before the meeting.
--N's weakest point for Stars was that she prolonged reading her Bible. She wants to work on improving retention, I want her not to procrastinate! I have agreed to read with her and for us to "journal" briefly about what we've read. When I did this for her with Stars to help her through Proverbs it seemed to work really well for both of us. Reading the Bible is a very difficult thing for me to do. I found a really neat Bible Reading Chronological schedule that I think we might read from. I think that would make it easier for me. We'll see. N's already read some so we're still working out the Bible reading details.
3. Try to stay in a relative time frame.
--You would think that it would be easier not harder for two people to work quickly through things, but we both are chatty and N does like to get side tracked, a lot. :(

I love having curriculum to work with and N has asked for a white board! :) I told her I'd have to think about that! LOL. I worked with her on a few STARS badges and that went okay. The curriculum for Friends is different then Stars, I like it better. I'm very glad that we will have time to work in a Bible Study together too. That's pretty cool.

There are some cute dry erase boards (typically for college students to put outside their doors)that might work out for Friends. Probably not too functional though.

Wow, I would not have been into that with my mom at that age - very cool that you're doing it. I have a chronological one year Bible that I've been working on for a year and half : ) -- the only draw back is I've been stuck in the old testament a long, long time. My one year Bible that incorporated new, old and psalms every day was cool, but I'm enjoying seeing where all the prophets etc fit into the actual goings on in Israel.
