Stuff to do

We have enrolled the kids in school. Actually Dash did it, but it's done, none the less. Next week we can take them to find out who cman's teacher is and walk him around his school. Sometime next week N will have an appointment with the guidance counselor and find out how the classes work. They have a different system here-they have 6 week grading periods instead of 9.

The fact that school will be different for her hasn't sunk in yet. N didn't realize that she doesn't have a "supply" list. I've tried to prepare her for the difference between elementary and jr. high--I guess it's just something you have to experience.

I think the last thing on our list to do is get our tags for our vehicles and our drivers licensed switched. We had to wait for KS to send the titles for our cars so there was a hold up. Once that's done we'll be official Indiana people! I can't imagine what people go through who move from another country. We had to show our ID and list all the states we've lived in to get a bank account! We have to have our Birth Certificates and social security cards to get our drivers license. I guess Indiana was the state that gave some of the terrorist licenses, so they have changed their laws and how they handle/process things now because of it. That makes sense.

Sounds like you all are becoming "official" in your new town! :)

Six weeks sounds short. That's definitely going to be a change for N.

I wouldn't be surprised if terrorists look to Kansas for licenses in the future, since it is very easy to go through the process of switching to a Kansas license.

I hope N has an easy time finding her classes-she wouldn't want to get a tardy!: )

How's it feel to be almost Indiana people?

I've never known anyone from Indiana. What is it like there? Is it like the midwest? I know N will love junior high and being a teenager now

Update: I managed to get both vehicles down to the DMV at the same time to get our new plates. Be sure to check out the Dashboard for a picture.

I've actually studied up for the drivers test (Did you know that there are official road signs for Cattle Crossing and Tractor Crossings?
