A blog without pictures! I can still do it! :)

We've been here 21 days now. a full 3 weeks. In some ways, it feels like we've been here a lot longer. We went to church last week to "our church." It's a small church of 100 to 150 people about 15/20 miles away. It's the church we attended before we left Indiana. The people are nice there. They remembered us and ironically my former youth sponsers from the church I attended in High School at Terre Haute are now attending there. She's the church secretary! So they seemed genuinely happy to see me and that made me feel even more connected. I spent A LOT of time with them my jr/sr years in high school and even my freshman year in college.

As we've already posted we've done a lot of yard work and we're back to hiking again. That's been the good thing of moving back without jobs right away. We've gotten into those kinds of schedules and settling in before having to jump right int work.

It's been so weird to not be working. I was so use to going out of the house everyday. I was with NJ the day that we loaded the UHaul to move! The first week I went stir crazy. I wasn't sure I could make it living in a small house with no outlet and all four of us right on top of each other. I had everything unpacked and in it's place by day 4. That was with taking long breaks and just stopping after a few hours and saying that's enough for that day. By day 5 I looked at dash and said "uh I've got to get out and DOOOO SOMETHING". Day 5 was when we started the trails! :)

Once I realized that I was having withdrawls from working FT (I haven't had that before because usually I am toasted and VERY done with any job I've left.) I calmed down a bit.

We've kept plugging away and we are genuinely happy with the house. There's a back room that needed some repair to the floor and my dad is coming by tomorrow to help us with that. Once we get that fixed the kids won't be sharing a room anymore which will be good for all of us, although I think it's been good for them to have some time in the same room too. They had a difficult time adjusting but have relearned how to "live" with someone else and compromise!

School starts in less then a month, and we're hoping to have jobs soon, so our lives will be in a more normal pattern soon enough. We're planning on hosting a family reunion with ALL my family Labor Day weekend and Jadee's coming down in August, so we're finding ways to keep busy in the mean time.

I have to say that it's a good thing that N and C-man's new bunk-beds can seperate into individual twin beds when we go to two rooms.

I had a bit of a melt-down when I realized that they could have used the beds they left in KC and that I might have been spared multiple hours in hex-wrench hell.

It sounds like you're doing a decent job of filling in the time. It's better than having too much to do for the time you have.

I've visited hex wrench hell many times. "What do you mean fasten screw 'R' to panel 'J'? There is no panel 'J'!!!"

There is a weird vortex feeling when you need a job but have lots of time on your hands. The time off is nice but it is more antsy when there is job anticipation. It all sorts out though and I know it will for you guys soon. Enjoy the time while you've got it.

It was nice having dinner with you guys on Saturday. Enjoy the down time you have now. Things will be busy again before you know it.

It's not everyday that you can enjoy life without the 8-5 routine. Enjoy it for a while.

We've done a lot more hiking since we relocated. It will be nice once the kids get more into it.
