With two days away from loading up the moving truck I've been cancelling and starting up utilities and changing addresses with other companies (Thank God for the Internet!) I even changed our car insurance already! Mainly because we're getting a break on insurance in Indiana from what it cost us in KS.
It was business business business last night. Tonight we're taking off and the kids and I are eating BBQ with friends. I think tomorrow we might be eating BBQ with friends and Dash!? Then Thursday is loading day so it will probably be mc d or subway. By the time we're moved, I'm going to be pretty okay with not have fast food around for a while!
I was shocked that out of everything we have had to take care of with business the hardest thing to do is getting a phone/internet set up. We're still waiting on confirmation from Verizon that they will process the order! I have no idea when they will come out and set us up? It's been very frustrating talking to them. They wanted 2 forms of ID faxed to them to confirm I am who I say I am. I think I found away around that on the internet...we'll see??? If not, then I may still have to find a fax machine and take care of that. FRUSTRATED! Who has a fax machine in the year 2007?
But I'm not complaining. I have a house that is ready for me to move into on Friday and waiting for me, so if I have to wait a little while on a home phone--have cell will call! :) (No internet stinks--though.) :(

Looks like you will be without your blog for a while.
I'm sure your Internet connection will get set up soon. Some time between 10AM and 4PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday next week or the week after. :)
House Update: I went over today with T's mom to open all the windows (btw - they are those cool Rolox windows you see advertised on Saturday afternoons).
All the carpets have been swept ... the bathroom and kitchen have been cleaned ... and all the little left-over trash has been removed.
T is probably the happiest that the Alzheimers deadbolts have been turned around. This means that I can't lock her IN the house ... though she can still lock me out.
:-)
Funny about the utilities. I had no trouble setting up everything before we moved up here.
BUt some words of advice. Don't put all in the utilities in your name. Let Dash set up some or when you go to get your new drivers licenses, Dash will have problems. BB couldn't get a license for a long time because they are really strict about proof of address being a utility.
there probably isn't a wi-fi coffee house nearby your new house either. hope things go smoothly.
This blogging thing moves into a new stage of keeping friends connected! Who'll move next?
There aren't many people left and Golden and I have no intentions of moving in the near future. Forrest, you still plan on hanging around Kansas, right? :)
My understanding is that Dash and T won't have an Internet connection until July 11. The real question is whether they will find a way to get their fix through a connection at family's home or through that coffeehouse with Wi-Fi that Dash knows about.
The phone/internet is the biggest challenge to get hooked up in Spain. Can be 3-6 months!!! Makes you feel better doesn't it?
You can always try to ride someone's unprotected wireless in the neighborhood until you get yoursI know several missionaries that do that!
