Last week dash and I had a rough week. The kids were gone all week to see grandma and grandpa and we originally had very little planned. Dash had off already for work, so he kept the time off and I decided to only take Friday off. We got in late on Sunday night and Monday morning we had plumbers come. They were there all day replacing the pipes in the house.
Tuesday dash took our van in for repair work that we knew would need done eventually--but when we started to leave for our trip--we knew eventually had come sooner then we had hoped.
We were on to Wednesday. Dash had said he would replace the facet in our bathroom. We have always wanted to do more then that, but it's not our home and so we held off on doing more. He started with a facet job and before we knew it we had decided to replace the sink too and put down some carpet and (I think you see where I'm headed.) It all would have been fine with just that, but then a valve started leaking. So Thursday we had plumbers over AGAIN! (Since Wednesday we were out of water in the whole house.)
By Thursday night things were slowing down. We had made plans with friends for the weekend and Dash was finishing replacing the light fixture in the bathroom. While he worked I recanted the above events to Jadee. She was amazed at the week we had. Without pause she started asking me about the weekend. When would we pick up the kids, what did we have planned. Before I knew it, I was downstairs telling dash that we had a room reserved in St. Louis for Saturday night! Jadee had offered her free room to us and had made arrangements for us already. I was shocked. Such a kind offer and I was elated that such a rough week could have a good ending to it.
Dash finished the lights we got together with golddust on Friday (thanks for being flexible) and had a great time kicking back eating pizza and watching a movie and then Saturday we drove to St. Louis. When we got to the hotel Jadee had just checked us in and we drove up the parking garage. I told dash she must have been in a hurry because she didn't really want to talk. We got to our room and opened the door and dash walked in and there sat gift baskets! She had gotten us candles and sparkling grape juice and had it on ice chilling. She had a snack basket filled with chocolate and other goodies.
She and the kids did that as a surprise for us and she was so excited when I called her she said that it was all they could do to not tell us! They had fun getting the room ready and it really made the stay that much more special! What a friend! She's also the first person to pull a surprise over on me--maybe ever! Then again it took her 13 years to figure out how to accomplish surprising me too! She always gives in and tells me what she's up to first! LOL!
I only wish I was as good as a gift giver. Unfortunately I am not as creative as Jadee. But maybe if I hangout with her another 14 years some of it will rub off on me! HA!

Ahhh...you know we LOVE you guys! You ARE our FAMILY! And yes, it was so much fun to do that for you...and even harder to keep my mouth shut! It was so cute that the boys were even in on the anticipation of surprising you!!! :)
But I am thrilled you enjoyed your stay. We were thrilled to have you over on Sunday for visit time and dinner! You definitely deserved a treat after a hard week of "vacation" that was FAR FROM IT! LOL!
That is awesome! That was real nice of Jadee & Co.
What a cool surprise fun time! Yeah, for happy surprises!
