I gave the kids each the opportunity to pick a meal for this week that they would like to have. Anything they wanted and I'd fix it for them. Nicky quickly said spaghetti. I said, are you sure? She said, yes. Then she added meatballs to the request. Cman said sausage, eggs, and hashbrowns. I may end up making fried potatoes for him instead, I think he would like that better. We'll see.
Do you think that their pick for dinner will change when they get older? When I was younger I would have picked ham, potatoes, and mac and cheese. With the exception that I'd add a green vegie now and probably take the mac and cheese off because of the kids. My favorite meal (the main part of it) has not changed. Have you had a favorite meal since childhood that you always look forward too or have your taste changed with age?

Both of the requests sound tasty!
I probably would have requested pizza as a kid, and I probably would not request that as much any more. If I could include take out, Chipotle would top my list most frequently any more.
I kept the same tastes. I still want pizza, fried chicken, and mashed potatoes.
My brother always wanted spaghetti and he still does. I bought him a colander for X-mas to drain his spaghetti noodles in. He recently got his own house and has no kitchen supplies.
I'd be sunk if my kids wanted me to MAKE fried chicken! :) I don't do chicken unless it's frozen chicken breast! :)
I fixed meatballs for the first time in my life tonight. They actually turned out okay. (Thanks Jadee for the recipe!) I even made enough that we have some left for another meal later this week!
