Vacation

We're officially on vacation. As I sit at a small table in a Best Western just outside Nashville, TN I realize that I do not miss our house in KC. I do not mean the one we are in now. I am talking about the one we owned in KC just off I-70! I have no idea how I am ever going to fall asleep. Dash, on the other hand--does not have issue with this. I can't believe the traffic at 1:20 in the morning. Who are these people?!

We had a very nice dinner in St. Louis with Jadee and boys. We exchanged small gifts and then we decided to get further down the road. It was nice to decide that after we already had driven 4 hours. I didn't spend the whole day thinking about being in the van for 10 hours! We made great time tonight and should avoid a lot of the nasty traffic we would have driven through during rush hours in St. Louis and Nashville if we had left St. Louis tomorrow.

We listened to Alabama tonight! :) A Chipmunk CD that had a Christmas story and songs combo. Dash listened to talk radio for a while, I tried to sleep--but I know about the stuff they were talking about, so I was not real successful. We also listened to Country Music on the radio. I still don't understand how people can not like it? Dash actually has mellowed into an appreciation for it. I don't know if it's because it's Christmas or the station we got, but the number of sad who's beaten who and who's leaving who songs were almost none. We did hear "There's a stranger in my house" by Ron Milsap. I found the irony that I never got as a kid! There's a line that says "Somebody here that I can't see." The irony is that Ron is blind (for those of you still reading!)

I guess I'll sign off now. For all those traveling --stay safe. For all those staying home--enjoy your time! Not spent in a vehicle! :)

Merry Christmas!

I have been part of the traffic on the highway at 1:20 AM many times. Most of it is truckers, though.

Stay safe aqnd enjoy the vacation time yourself as well!

I'm not much of a country fan, but it is better than rap. Being stuck in a car for hours listening to rap would be torture
