She did it again!

N has done it again! She said her teacher was getting ready to hang some art projects on the wall at school. N said, I can't find mine. She searched high and low. In the completed pile and incomplete (just in case it was there be mistake.) Sadly she looked up at her teacher and said "it's not here?" Her teacher sent her to the art room to ask the art teacher if she might know where N's art work was. At this point, N probably thought it was lost forever. She has lost art work before. She entered the room, the teacher was busy. She said "Have you seen my elf?" The art teacher said, "is your name on the sticky pad on my desk?" N looked. "Yes." She was then told that he art has made it into the art show again this year!

She was in it in the fourth grade and now, she is in it again! From her school there are two 6th grade classes and about 40 to 45 sixth grade students. One student's work was picked from each classroom. She was the one from her class! She is very excited to be in this again. She loves art, but lacks confidence in it. She is overly critical of her work. I think it's because she has a true eye for details and admires others art so much.

Cman loves art. He's posted about 'feeling' art. He does a great job too, but he does not lack confidence! Quiet the opposite, he's sure he's the best every time! I'm so proud of N and her hard work. I know that she is very excited to be apart of this again. I hope this gives her the confidence she needs to continue to pursue art. She had almost talked herself out of taking it next year. We shall see.

I guess the piece she did was an Elf Mosaic. She points out that they weren't allowed to use real stones, they had to use construction paper, so it's not really Mosaic! :) I am looking forward to seeing it. Since the Shawnee Mission Mall is closed they are showing the High School's art work at the convention center and the Elem work at the districts admin office. I am hoping to take her Thurs or Friday to see it on display. We have started putting the kids art from school on the walls in the "game room." Since N doesn't keep her stuff like Cman does she only has a couple things that were in contests the past couple years. I'm glad that we will have another item to add to her side of the wall! :)

If my text goes through, I guess it's working. :) What was the problem?

BTW, I apparently have to log in as anonymous at the moment.

Good job, N! It sounds like your game room is in good hands.
