Home for the holidays

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. We are home for the Holidays. Usually that would mean I was in Indiana; it will always be home to me. But this year it means, I'm right here in OPK. It's nice to be home. We don't have anyone coming in for the big day. Just dash, me and the kids sitting down to a dinner that we all planned together. Ham, potatoes, corn/green beans/bacon bits, crescent rolls, and home made carrot cake for desert. We already decorated for Christmas so it's going to be a fun relaxing weekend. Dash and I are hoping to stay well, the kids were under the weather this weekend. They're better now and raring to go! We've started teaching the spades last night. They are learning about trump, by the end of the weekend, they should understand the betting and strategy of the game too! At least, that's the plan!

Speaking of plans, trips and so forth. My sister lived in OP for 10 years or so. She's in Atlanta now. We're going there for Christmas. But I still in my head think (when I think of going to her place for Christmas) I'm going to KS for Christmas! If ONLY that were true! I do think that dash and I might have some fun with the road trip--but 14 hours or more is a long trip to make and the kids are so excited! (NOT!) They will have their backpacks with toys and books and snacks, so I'm sure they will find a way to enjoy the moment. I personally am looking forward to ALABAMA and other CDs that might find their way into the van for such an occasion! :)

See, I know dash doesn't read my blogs so I can write that and he'll never know my plot to load up the van with all my songs and remove his Cd's ! (evil grin!) The other thing he won't think about is the fact that we'll be driving through "country radio heaven!" Where every station is country or old rock! :) "SURE, we can listen to the radio babe!" (wicked laugh! :) )

Sounds like a relaxing holiday. I hope Dash can stand the country music

Very funny. I won't say anything about your evil music plot. : )

How did I miss this post before? Anyway, Golden better not try something like that. I don't think I could stand several hours of Alabama.

I won't say anything about the plot either... for a price. :)

Shoot. I did a comment and it got obliterated. Funny about the music. We used music, talk radio, and books on tape to pass the time. We also played a game. You make up a sentence with the letters of the license plate that passes you. ie JCK, just can't kick.
