It's weird where we get our inspirations from in life. Sometimes it's by seeing someone or something and wanting to emulate it. Other times it's by wanting to avoid a replay of an experience at all cost. A simple thought from a commercial or a book we read. So many things can inspire us.
This week my best friend from High School called me to tell me that after our last conversation she spent quiet a while thinking about her life. She ended up deciding that she wanted more out of her life and from that came the inspiration to go back to school to become a teacher. This conversation happened maybe a couple months ago, but I think it was more like 6 weeks. Since then she has enrolled in a distance education program and started her classes last week. She also got a job as a teachers aid at her daughters school, which can go for some of her class credits too. She is excited, things are falling into place and all because of this nagging thing that wouldn't drop from her mind after a phone call. I know her well enough to know that she will succeed and do wonderful at teaching kids too. I'm excited for her.
While some people need to plan, think and mull over ideas, Nichol and I are both the type to be able to come up with life changing plans rather quickly and implement them without pause. I think it's because we way all the scenarios in our mind and know if we're willing to commit. Neither one of like to sit still for too long and once we've made up our minds, we really want to take action on those plans, unless we've incorporated waiting into the plan! :) I think this is the Lion/Beaver combination? We both like personality stuff too.
Nichol may not realize the inspiration she is too me too. I always feel refreshed after we've talked. It's exciting to know she's entering this stage in life and I too am working on reinventing myself in some new ways. It may not be as drastic as becoming an elementary teacher, but it's inspired non the less! :)

I like that idea! Then again, I've always like those garden-make-over shows. There are so many possibilities. Too bad we become happy with something less...
That's Great! I have been seriously looking into Master's programs at some of the local universities here that have courses you can take online. Even though its something I figured I would do after the kids are grown...I am finding myself a bit bored in life and ready to take the next step in my eduacation.
Ironically, my appointment on Tuesday could be a wide-open door for me to complete that goal. Two of the three managers in the meeting had accomplished the same goal while being with their current company!
I would like someone to come in and makeover my garden.
Wow. That's great for your friend. You are an action oriented person. Or self motivated. I think or talk without acting on it.
It's good to know that you are willing to commit before committing, IMO. People who jump right in without giving it any thought often don't have commitment.
