How we met...Our story :)

Dash may wish to editorialize this on his own blog someday, I just thought it would be fun since we were talking about first dates on Forrest's blog to have our story written down!

We met one time in a hall way. A mutual friend introduced us. We both thought the other was one of her "weird" friends! Then I met Dash after his hair cut (he had skater hair the first time we met.) I did not associate him with the guy I had met a couple months prior. He was cocky and had attitude, but I still wondered how the girl he was with ended up with him? He seemed to pay attention to me, but I guess I was wrong, because he did not remember me!

Then there was the final "first meeting" We were head counselors of the Evangel Music Camp's 2nd year running. I had organized the camp for the professor so I got the girl's "head counselor" role. Dash was returning and between him and his roomate, the professor picked dash as the boy's head counselor. It was the night before all the kids got there and I came rushing into the meeting with Jadee. We had gotten a little off schedule talking and getting to know one another. So we showed up late to the meeting (first and last time I showed up late!) I was starving, and knew I had already disrupted the meeting. So instead of getting up and walking to the pizza across the room, I decided to eat the spaghetti in front of me. It took me a while to decide this because I'm not a big spaghetti fan. Dash cheered when I picked it up and took a bite! Apparently he was watching the mental debate I had and he was amused! :) He said "yeah, good for you!" or something to that effect! Whatever it was it got my attention.

That was it, I looked up saw him smiling and by the end of the week I think everyone knew that the rest would be history!:) We managed to overcome his "what girlfriend?" (I remembered meeting him in the bookstore with his girlfriend.) Apparently he thought they "were on a break!" So after clearing that up our first date got moved up from the Thursday after the camp ended to the Sunday Camp ended. We went to Country Kitchen (no longer exists) stayed up late, took a walk in the park and I believe he missed curfew! I had an apartment, so I had no curfew!

Love at first sight? NO! :) Can you really picture me with a guy with skater hair?! But pretty close to it! :) Good thing he decided to cut his hair or we may never have gone out! LOL

Now, when you say skater hair you mean...?

We just made curfew on our first date. That was 2AM and was before Golden was completely honest about her regular sleep schedule. :)

Was his skater hair similar to the "skunk mullet" wig he wore with the ape costume? : )

Country Kitchen was a neat late night hangout for Evangel students. I was sad when they shut it down.

Nice story.

This was the early 90's. His skater hair was the short cut in the back with LONG bangs that drooped in front of his eyes (parted from the side I am guessing?) I do not have any pictures of dash with that hair style, but apparently he had it for a while and had cut it not long before we met.

I believe that he had a mullet at one point in his life too! He also had a long rat tail for a while! He was a man of many hair styles! :)

I would love to see a picture of Dash with a skater hair cut. Did he actually skate?

Yes Dash was indeed a skater. When I met him he actually roller bladed a lot.

But he married a blade challenged person and retired at the young age of 20. We did go skating with N when she was about 2 years old one time! I never got off the carpet! --According to him that doesn't count! :) But Dash went out and skated, he showed off for us both skating backwards and moving to the grove of the hip songs playing over the system! :) :) He's a man of many tallents!

We bought N her first pair of skates at 3, but neither she nor cman have taken up a love for skating that their daddy had.

I think somebody needs to share some pictures from their time at Evangel some time so I can see this skater hair.

I will have to check my yearbooks...LOL!

I admit...I can't remember really what he looked like back then...but obviously when you mention the longer hair...is probably why I was shocked you two were dating! :P

That was a GREAT week as counselors...still can't believe you encouraged me to be a little rebellious of the "rules"...ROFL! =D

I think it would be fun for all of us to show our college picture sometime.

Ahh college. The golden years, and many bad hair cuts.
