If I were a wall

Pam Thumb had a CD out when dash and I were dating. We actually used it as our songs for our wedding. "If I were" was the first song dash picked out for us. I understand what this meant to him a lot more now then I did then, the realist that I am was a little too literal at that point in my life! I know that when I play that CD I really like to think about it and how our love has grown and yet the foundation remains and dash is as ever my wall, rain, kiss, and prayer.....

If I Were

If I were a wall
I'd fall down around you
And build you a home where you
Could be safe and warm
I'd keep out the cold
Yes, I'd be your shelter
If I were a wall
If I were

If I were a storm
I'd gently pass over
And send down my rain, sweet, rain
To cover your tears
I'd fade till the sun
Could shine down upon you
If I were a storm
If I were

If I were a kiss
I'd seal every promise
And follow the softest words
To fall from your lips
And I would live on forever
In only a moment
If I were a kiss
If I were

If I were a prayer
I'd rise without ceasing
Lifting you higher with
Each breath that I'd take
I'd cover your soul
With only a whisper
If I were a prayer
If I were

I remember this song. Never thought of it quite this way...good, and very personal insight!

is this like the christian version of "if I had a hammer..."?

not enough data to draw a conclusion to your question forrest. Could you give me more data. If I had a hammer...? Maybe you could sing it for me next time I see you so I can compare the two! :)
