I am not sure that everyone would agree that we had a vacation last week! But actually we both felt very good that we were at my folks house a week that they really could use some help from us. While we were there we were able to do the following things:
Tuesday-I went to a couple of doctors appointments with her. She took N and I to dinner! YUMMY :)
Wednesday-Dash and I (While the kids played with auntie T) went with her to meet the Sheriff to evict a tenant. We cleaned up the yard with her, and we stayed with her while the tenant tried to come back on the property, argued with her and then tried to get some of their stuff (Since they hadn't packed anything to be out by the time the court had given them.)
Dash also boarded up the front door and changed the locks on this day.
Thursday-Dash and I went back to board up the shed and we took the opportunity (along with auntie T) when mom wasn't there, but off having her day with the kids, to bag up the clothes that were all over the place. That took us 3 hours. We also inventory the items of the former tenant that were their so they would have that with their pictures that mom took.
Friday we went to town and got her PC, ordered her DSL, bought her router, and put Virus protection on her PC.
Saturday we were back at the property with dad, helped him fix the lock that had been messed with and we finished the inventory. We also were there with him when the tenant showed up trying to get more things.
Later that day we got to visit with my brother and his family, and my sister and her family and we also got to hang out on the farm.
Sunday we went to church, drove around, stopped in to see my cousin who is in the process of moving and visited with her and my aunt. We went back home where we crashed for the rest of the night and then left Monday. (Again--they took us out to a good BBQ place!:)
It was a busy/full week. But we both were happy that we were there to be helpful. I just got a phone call from my mom--the phone company is installing the DSL and they were telling her she would need a card for the router. She didn't understand what they were talking about so she had him talk to me and I assured him that her PC was wireless ready and that we used wireless on that PC here. I am sure she'll get an email to me later letting me know she's got internet now!
I love my mom, she and my dad have been great to us down through the years. She keeps saying she doesn't deserve the kids she has, but as dash and I reminded her, she and dad have always been there for us, we're happy to be able to be there for them. :) My sister T told her that you reap what you sow and that didn't just mean how you were with you parents, but she sowed and invested in us and now she gets to reap the benefits! I think that's pretty cool.

Wow. You really helped out a lot. I can't imagine dealing with a tenant that needs to be evicted.
