Lists

Or should I say grocery lists. I like to write the grocery list on paper. I also like to write it in the order that I think it out. For example, I process through based on meals. Do we need cereal, graham crackers, oat meal, milk/soy milk, juice? Do we need bread, lunch meat, chips, applesauce, water, soda? Do we have meat, veges, fruit, and any snack items we may "need" for the week? That rounds out my list. Well, then I realize if I am making say Chili or Tacos that I have to make sure I have the seasonings and additional items for meals like that. So THEN my list is complete.

Dash's idea of a grocery list is somewhat different then mine. He wants me to make the list in "aisle" form. All the dairy together, produce, meats, snacky chip items, snacky cracker/cookie aisle, etc. He also wants it typed in 14 point font (jadee can attest to this.)

I don't like to write the list in the "aisle" form because it's not how I think so I have to do extra work to write the list in my way and then change it for him. Tonight he actually took the list I had and made a template in excel. He thinks that I will use it now! I think he can have his grocery template and do his own lists from now on! HA.

On the advice of counsel, I refuse to comment to this post - on the grounds that it may incriminate me or otherwise make me look even more of a gimp than I actually am.

I think I am the gimp right now dash. "Gimp = person with a limp."

Actually, why not make the list with items already typed on it...then just make a checkbox next to it? My mom actually had some grocery list notepads like that growing up...

Check it out if you like, that was one of my favorites, but it's not the same. That was a fun and quippy blog on the blog list I lost while completing my to do list in the office.

BTW....
I T, being list minded, do hereby swear to write more blogs on lists. I mean, what would the world be like without lists? I dare say, I would not want to guess. For lists are a vital tool and play an important role in my life and many others! :) :) :) :)

You guys are funny!
...and for Dash's list with the aisles, can you include a map diagram of the store to scale with a north arrow and notes and symbols that would guide one to the cereal aisle?

I am trouble when you send me to the store with a list. I see the list as a starting point. It is the general idea. It sets down some basic rules and then all creativity flows.

You never know what is going to be on sale, what new flavors will appear, a craving that suddenly hits, or when I decide we should have steak sometime this week.

Did you run into gridlock on the way to the grocery store?

Golden likes to make a list of the things we don't need when she goes to the store and shop against that.

A list of what you don't need! Sometimes that would be a much shorter list then what we do need! I doubt that I will ever shop that way, but that is an interesting approach!

My grocery list says: no pop, no cereal, no little debbie cakes. I do this because I have a problem similar to Forrest's. I see things on sale or a new flavor and I want to buy it. It keeps me in check so I don't get tempted.
