I was thinking about blogs today and my mouse button bumped the play to my xm radio station...XM The Heart. The song that was playing came to a close and Anne drifted into the room. You needed me, you needed me. I love that song. I have my mom's Anne Murray record here, I just put it on! It's her greatest hits. What a great album! I think I'm going to put it on my wish list for CD! (I wonder if it's even possible to get it on CD?)
I recognize that some people like Karen Carpenter and some people like Babs. What I like about Anne is that her music is not cluttered. It's very simple and basic. There is something about her voice that really relaxes me. It seems to flow seamlessly. I grew up listening to Anne Murray. My mom likes her too! For me, she's my all time favorite female voice! I know everybody has different things that they like in music and vocally, the things I like, I find in Anne!

... so now I know that I shouldn't have griped at the kids for getting into the records and leaving them on the couch.
I had never heard of Anne Murray before. I googled her and went to her website. I got to listen to a few lines of some songs. She does have a nice voice.
I still prefer Karen Carpenter though. : )
Yeah, so does dash! :)
Golden hadn't heard of Anne Murray?????? OH my....do I really feel old...LOL!
Course, most people still don't know what song I am talking about when I tell them I grew up on the easy listening station with "I want some Red Roses for a Blue Lady"...not sure who I heard sing it...i want to say it was Wayne Newton.
Quick, someone say something about Alanis or R.E.M.! This discussion has gotten Golden to start singing Karen Carpenter songs and I would like to change the genre slightly. :)
I have never heard of Anne Murray.
I don't care for Alanis, but I like lots of female singers.
