what's best for you

Family. I'm watching a show on tv about family. It's a sitcom. The mom tries to cheer up her son, who's wife has just left him, by rallying the whole family to spend time with him so he's not alone. His father tries to let him "talk out his feelings" when he says that's what he needs and ends up yelling at him--letting him know the whole family has always hated his soon to be ex-wife. Isn't it crazy how family can try so hard to know what is best for you?

I know that there are times when dash, or my folks, or a sibling, or one of my children have thought that they knew how to make it all better. That's what we want, right? We don't want to see a loved one hurting, we want to step in and fix it. We want them better. We try and we try. Sometimes what we try works. Sometimes we just need to sit back. But when to do what is the hardest part of being in a family. I love all of my family. I wouldn't trade them or their 100 wrong ways to make things better for anything. It is a bummer that we don't all come with manuals! Sure would save us time! "What to do when T gets a broken leg, page 240!" "How to help dash when his job stresses him, page 333!" I guess until then we'll just have to keep on keeping on with trial and error!

Wow! If those topics are on pages 240 and 333...what in the world fills up the previous pages...LOL!

Guess it would be a "handy" manual!
