Keep it Simple, Keep it Real. I loved growing up on a "dirt road" It's awesome to live on a farm where you can take long walks and soak up all of God's creation. Nothing in the world is better then being on the farm and having nothing to do but "sit on the porch with God."

Movies
I am very picky about Movies I like and more picky about what makes a movie "buying" material. We joined Columbia House last summer and we have to buy 4 movies by the end of our year contract. This is becoming more difficult then I expected. I thought it would be cool, but a lot of the movies I thought I would want to buy...they don't sell. Perfect example, Sound of Music. We're suppose to buy that for N and can't get it from them. Another one I was counting on towards the 4 was the 3rd and final Lord of the Rings for dash. They don't sell that one either. So far, we've gotten Polar Express and now we have Madagascar. Once we've bought 4 at regular price we can buy all that we want at the discounted price and get some of the movies that we thought would be cool to get. We got several old ones when we signed up. So, I guess we'll see how it goes and if any come out that qualify for buying material by the end of next summer, but I doubt that we do this again. I think it's a "once in a life time" thing for us. Does anyone else have difficulty finding movies they feel are worth buying?

I got the anniversary version DVD of the Sound of Music at Borders for $19.99 just a few weeks ago. That is our "family" present this year (since I only had the VHS version).
And you can get ALOT at Target/Wal-Mart....
... just to clarify:
It was the third ... errr Sixth and final starwars. They didn't even have IV, V, and VI!!!!
A movie has to be pretty good in order to be "buying material." I can think of several movies that I would like to buy or receive for Christmas: 13 Going on 30, The Notebook, Napoleon Dynamite, Dead Poets Society. I am sure there are others.
Finding a movie to rent with a picky person drives me crazy. If I know the person is picky, we better have a movie in mind before we go to Blockbuster. : )
I would probably have a hard time determining what I want to own. I usually try to consider movies that have a broad appeal because I only own movies for when people come over. I rent the ones I want to see.
Any James Bond is worth owning.
I like to be able to watch movies a couple of times so I like to buy. I really don't worry about who is coming over for them to watch. Since we hardly get out to the theaters anymore, we can buy a movies cheaper than the price of two tickets. This comes in handy with a little baby, because you won't get out and you never know when they wake up and interupt the movie your watching and you may not be able to finish until a few days later.
