Can you believe it? No Subway in NY. I'm sure glad that I'm not there right now! You HAVE to have 4 people to a cab. I'm sure that I would be one of the many finding a way to stay home or walk. 4 strangers in a cab makes for 3 too many (in my opinion.)

Not to mention that cabs are mucho expensive.
Maybe you could split the cab costs with the person riding with you???
I just visited my sister in NYC last weekend. The threat of the strike hung ominously in the air all weekend. Lucky for me, I escaped the city just in time before the strike. NYC is one of the few places in the USA (perhaps the only place) where a car is a liability. It is so much easier to get around by mass transit (when the workers are not striking of course) than to try to use your own vehicle. I can only imagine how horrible the traffic and congestion must be right now.
