I got to talk to my dad for about an hour and a half tonight before my mom got home from work! We had a great conversation. He was a lot happier, he's got a new job he's started and it's with a "big outfit" (he's in construction!) He told me it was too bad I wasn't there this weekend, he has to learn how to use a computer and could use mine and dash's help!
I think it's so cool that he's open to learning this. He could retire now, but wants to build his pension up so he plans on working a few more years, no more then 5. Even with knowing that he's willing to take a job that is stretching him to do his work on a computer! You have to understand, my dad is an amazing man, but as I stated, he is in construction. He is a farmer. He is 60! He is intelligent, but his interests are definitely not in computers. As manager, he has a lot of paper work. This company posts weekly pictures of their jobs online! So he'll have to learn the internet and how to take and upload digital pictures! I am once again inspired by my parents. They have always been "do what you need to get it done" people. But something as intimidating as learning computers at the age of 60 is impressive!
He never ceases to amaze me. I think that's what I like the most about my folks. They have taught me so much about life and how it's always changing and to survive, you change with it. Kudos to mom and dad!

T's dad is definately cool. And once he stopped calling me "that boy", he's been an excellent father-in-law.
yeah well, I don't think you'll be any different mr. dad. You'll be chad to every boy N knows until they want to date! Then you'll get all formal...
"Now son, since you show interest in my daughter, you'll have to ask my permission to take her out first. I suggest you plan on calling me on my cell and make sure you ask for Mr. Franklin. Keep if formal, be respectful, and I'll try to keep that in mind when I decide if you've earned the right to a date with my little girl!"
At least my dad didn't make you submit a paper on why you should be able to date me or I'd probably be Mrs. Someone else right now! LOL
I would never make them submit a paper....I prefer a face to face 'behavioral' interview.
#3. Tell me about a time when faced a financial struggle. How did you respond and what have you learned from that expericne.
#4. Describe your ideal wife. List 6 positive traits that you think are important for her to have as well as 4 things that she must not demonstrate.
wow, I'm liking it! I knew you'd come in handy on the dating front!
It's not really an arranged marriage if she brings the candidates to us, it's more of a mutually acceptable marriage! LOL!
It is impressive that your dad is willing to learn something new. My relatives aren't like that. Besides my one grandmother who emails me.
