Her night

Tonight was N's first choir recital. She sang with other elementary schools and Jr. High/middle school kids, and the Shawnee Mission North Choirs. She's been singing the songs around the house for a few weeks. I was amazed that they haven't had many practices at school for this and we only had 4 days notice of it ourselves. I really wasn't looking forward to the concert, but it was very pleasant. It's the first time that I've actually enjoyed going to something like this. It was only about 40 minutes long. I wish I hadn't been sitting on a bleacher, but other then that the music was fun and the kids really seemed to have a good time. I think N enjoyed her first of many performances! We also got to meet the mother of her best friend "F.A." So there was an added bonus. Cman didn't say if he liked it or not, but he is planning a blog of his own, so I'm sure in a day or so we'll get his thoughts on it! We also thought that her group, that wore white shirts and black pants all looked very classy. Some of the other groups had just t-shirts or vests with jeans which was not as dressy or as pleasant to look at. It was the first time she's had a night that was just for her on a an extra curricular activity like this. I look forward to more concerts and her growth into the the music world that she loves so much. :)

Oh yes, do I ever remember the black dresses in my day?

By my junior year of college, I finally had my black dress that I liked and was comfortable for wearing for long periods of time....still don't know what happened to that dress...but I surely wouldn't wear it now...it reeks of "concert" material! LOL!

N's concert was cool - even if we did have to figure out the maze of stairs to the balcony. It took C-man and I forever to find seats; but when we looked up, we were right across from N (perfect chaos!)

The gym, as we had been warned got pretty warm by the end of the program. As we were dismissed, they announced that they were selling Shierdan's custard in the lobby. N is certainly hitting the big time if her concerts have vending like that.

How exciting for her! I always enjoyed my choir concerts. How cool that they served Sheridan's. Yum!
