Too Cool?

This has never been something that I've been accused of being. I know BIG surprise! But I grew up in a cool family. My mom and sisters sang together as a group for weddings, graduations, festivals, etc. My sisters were "miss popular" (literally in high school voted Miss Popular.) They were both, yes BOTH Prom Queen of their class. They were a year apart, so T1 crowned T2. That was cool. My brother was Mr. Football player who dated the cute cheerleader AND he was the youth group drummer. I met people all the time who would say "You're T1/T2's little sister" or "R's your brother?" Or my favorite meeting old friends of my parents and hearing "I don't remember you having 3 girls!?" I was invisible. I was the un child.

The ironic part of life, I wasn't overweight until I moved away to go to college. So I was asked to be a model (my sisters weren't.) That was the coolest thing that ever happened to me and my mom looked at the man and said, "Oh no, she's going to Bible College, she's not going to model!" In case you haven't figured it out, I wasn't voted anything my senior year and I WAS NOT the prom or homecoming Queen. Oh yeah, one of my sisters was BOTH prom and Homecoming Queen!

I was torn between wanting to stay on the farm my whole life and feeling that there wasn't a place for me there, since I wasn't "the boy." So I moved away and made a place for me in a different life. I'm happy with who I am, except for my struggles with my weight--which I specifically don't blog about because I don't know if I have what it takes to change it, so why draw attention to my obvious failure?

That and I HATE pity, so please DON'T think that's what I'm looking for here! :).

Really I know that I won't ever be cool. But I'm cool with who I am. Flaw/failures and all. There's an old Imperials song that says "Changin' I keep on Changin' Till He is done with me." I figure cool or uncool, flawed or lessflawed, mental or well who am I kidding?.....It's still good to be me!

Really, the theme that keeps getting reiterated is that the cool don't try to be and the uncool do.

I like to try to skirt the center since my personality is not a cool personality, but I can generally avoid uncool traits if I so choose.

You guys think I'm cool and by today's standards I would have had to be in a carseat in 9th grade because I weighed less than your average small hay bale. I've always had a turkey neck until of recent times, and now I am the short tattooed dude headin down the fireplug trail blazed by my father. My neck and breats are growing at an alarming rate. Have you guys tried shoes or hats?

How exactly do shoes and hats help with the man-breast thing?

We like the fact that you just want to be yourself! Keep it real, T.
