My assignment

Well, I've been given an assignment. I have been told to blog something funny. This was a demand from "Queen for the moment, J." She was awake enough today to find out that I have blogged about her, one of which was (as I admitted) a complete and total VENTING moment. She got a good laugh and said that I had to go home and write a funny blog to make them laugh. The question is---what subject to use? How do I convey the "funny" moments that have occurred the past few days midst the tough times? Especially when I don't have the artistic writing abilities that Mr. Dust has. (Italics man!)

So, rather then attempt to make a quippy story, since I'm really to tired to. I'll tell you a few things that have made us laugh recently. Please note, that anything that is said has already been approved by J for the sake of humor!

1. Jadee calling me up on Wednesday sounding drunk and saying in a slurred and sing song voice "Hey it's your buddy J from St. Louis....Internal bleeding....Sonic for dinner....Emergency room....Know what I mean?.....Later....." This is even funnier now that we know she has no recollection of making the phone call!

2. Jadee telling me Sat. On the phone while I was on my way to visit her that the hospital had given her Opium the night before and she "REALLY" hoped they would give her more that day too!

3. My sister telling me to tell J that Opium doesn't come in IV form, they'd have her hooked to a pipe instead!

4. (one of my personal favorites....again disclosed with permission) "Don't pee in the poop!" This was repeated a few times by the doc, that we really like, and he said it sober each time, but somehow managed to chuckle when I repeated it back to J while discussing what she can and can't do! "Don't pee in the poop!"

5. Jadee getting her humor back today to actually talk for real and realizing she's not lost it, when she found out that she was ordering me to write something funny after Mr. Dust the incredible had just done 3 blogs on humor.

She thinks I'm funny, I think I try, but some are just masters while others of us are stuck in an immature PB and J world of "silly humor!"

I think you are mastering sarcasm. At least I think that is what it is (hard to tell with no italics). I usually figure that once I have been mentioned a couple of times that some sarcasm is showing. :)

About #2, do they really call it opium, or does it have a less druggy name?

I am curious why the doc wouldn't want her to pee in her poop? Were they going to run tests on the poop and not want to contaminate it with pee? (Like poop isn't contaminated already)

Yes, there was sarcasm in this blog I realized I don't usually menition you in blogs dust, hope that was okay, since I didn't get YOUR permission first! LOL.

She was on Morphine. I am pretty sure I am mispelling that. She had the name of the drug very wrong!

Yes, the "Don't pee in the poop" was due to tests they needed to run.

She just called and is doing MUCH better today. She had several things happening while in the hospital, but it seems that a lot of her condition the past few days was due to her reaction to the meds, so she's getting better, FINALLY.

Glad she's better and glad you could laugh or can now...laughter is so important in recovery from trauma I think.
